Tridium Releases New Web Launcher to Combat JAVA SE 8 End-of-Life

Posted by

As Oracle moves forward with its end-of-life plan for JAVE SE 8 we’re preparing for lots of issues with our Niagara customers. Specifically, those customers who access Niagara with the Java Applet/Web Start will need to utilize a work-around as free public updates for commercial users of Java are no longer available. Customers who have already upgraded to full HTML5 versions for a browser front-end will not be affected, but we are aware that it not the majority at this point.

It is always our number one goal to help our customers through transitions like these. As such, we are in the process of streamlining our support channel. For questions on JAVA SE 8 end-of-life and Niagara Java Applet/Web Start, please fill out our new support form and our expert team will work with you directly as soon as possible.
