Project Haystack

Project Haystack – Project Haystack is a trade organization created to establish a common tagging protocol for building equipment systems. Established in 2014, Project Haystack follows an open source, user generated model for determining tags and best practices for advanced building automation system control. Focusing on building equipment systems, automation and control devices, sensors and sensing devices, Haystack tags have quickly become industry standard for building automation professionals who wish to apply analytics to their building data.

Project Haystack is made up of Associate Members and a Board of Directors, with an active community of users who participate in working groups and on the online forum. The outcome of this work is what is known as Haystack tagging protocol.
