Analytics – the simultaneous application of statistics, computer programming, and operations research to quantify web performance. Analytics often refers to the visual display of data made popular by Google’s webmaster tools. Analytics are used to measure business data, predict performance and improve business strategies.

Analytics in building automation systems:

Innovative building automation systems are opening up building data to analytics analysis. Building systems produce an extreme amount of data but it is only recently that systems had the capability of harnessing this data and analyzing it in ways that translate into improved business operations.

Specifically, analytics are being used in building operations as predictive tools. The system tracks constantly tracks performance and notifies managers when there are anomalies that might lead to trouble down the line.
