Wild winter weather keeps circulating through the continental United States (shout-out to defrosting Atlanta), which is leaving people and buildings needing power in the worst way. Things look to be on their way back to “normal” but be careful out there, people. For now, bundle up and take a look at this week’s top Building Automation news.

First up, some frustrating news hit the industry late last week. The major Target security breach that happened through the Christmas holiday was linked back to an HVAC vendor. We’re all navigating these new internet-based technologies together and this is a nice reminder that it’s always better safe than sorry. To help prevent future problems like this one, CSO Magazine online offered these tips.

In lighter news, our friends at Control Trends talked about DataEye Pro and the data visualization model on a recent episode of Control Talk Now.

Honeywell released new WEBS.

Energy regulations continue to be discussed in Congress.
